i just don't get it.

I saw these in my Etsy finds e-mail today (btw, I'm in LOVE with this shop) and I came across these:

Embellished Tights
Seriously? $85? FOR RIPPED PANTYHOSE? Embellished Tights

I'm not even going to START on the shoes. Or the shoulder pads with fringe. Or the fact that her shirt is only about an inch shorter than her skirt.

Embellished Tights

I could find these in my grandmother's drawer, fall in a thorn bush, roll around a little, and bedazzle them with elmers glue and rhinestones for about $5 at the most.

Wait... that's not a bad idea...
(Here is where I show my Marketing skillz)

I make them (cost=$5) and y'all buy them (sell for $85)

I would make a smoooooooth $80 profit.

(My Mom will be so proud of what all her money has gone too {hi mom! I'm about to make MILLIONS!} It always pays to be business minded)

I'll start taking orders asap.

if i had all the money in the world, these are the things i would buy.

Alternately titled: "Things I want for Christmas"

1. This lady's cookbook-- On Amazon

2. These gorgeous pots

3. Oops! How did this get in here.........

(I'm dreaming, mmkay? So let me dream BIG.)
4. Pewter measuring spoons. I'm not obsessed with The Butter Queen Paula Deen, promise. I just like the stuff she sells/uses.

What number am I on? Oh yeah, 5. Sorry I got distracted by the Tahoe. I would like a stack of these rings with a J, T, and S on them.
6. This pretty shawl. Gorgeous. With that pricetag? Not happening.
7. This pretty boquet of fabric flowers. Why? I dunno. I just like them.
$195? I'll just make my own thankyouverymuch.
8. The Office on DVD.
9. World Peace (Shouldn't that be higher on my list?)
That's all I can think of right now. I hope you're having a great lazy Sunday, just like I am!

Hotty Toddy!

Beat Bama.

Updated: I didn't realize it was sideways when I sent it from my cellphone. Oops. I don't know how to flip it either. So my advice is to turn your head to the side and admire my photography skills :P

if you stop reading i won't blame you.

This week has been full of ups and downs. Here is where I'll spill my guts. Well, maybe not everything. You know what I mean.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Monday I met with my advisor. It is my least favorite thing to do for GOOD reason.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I have the career fair tomorrow. I'll be wearing this:

Courtesy of Polyvore.com

Well, not this exactly. Mine is full of the cheap stuff knockoffs.

Oh, and my shirt is long puffy sleeved.

Like this:

Wish me luck!

--------------------------------------------------------------

I might be a little too excited that I might not have to go to Shelby Broadstreet friday night to watch Coach Skinner. Apparently it's in a bad part of town and not exactly safe.
I will be participating in Secret Single Behavior* (term coined by Mrs. Newlywed--Love her blog!)

*SSB

Don't worry, SSB will consist of me NOT WATCHING FOOTBALL FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE watching my shows on tv and reading trashy gossip magazines. You know, the finer things in life :)

--------------------------------------------------------------

I love this:

--------------------------------------------------------------

Next week is going to be a busy week. Two assignments and a 10 page group project due Tuesday. Tests Wednesday and Thursday.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I'm currently watching an infomercial for "The Potty Patch."

Google Images

It's basically a litterbox for dogs. SERIOUSLY?!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes I wish my blog was completely anonymous and I could write about any and everything I wanted to. I could tell you a thing or two that is on my mind right now.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT SATURDAY!
Ole Miss football!

HOTTY TODDY!
Beat Bama!
It's time for me to hang out in the Grove and soak up the atmosphere (which will consist of Chanel No. 5 and Old Charter drifting from the Frat tents) and LOVE IT!
Forward Rebels!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Was that random enough for you?
Hello?
Are you there?
You got bored and quit reading?
I don't blame you.

Maybe I'll have something more interesting to say this weekend.

awkward.

Don't you hate when people just stare?
If I wasn't in the library, I would probably ask if there was a problem.
.... Awkward!

Who am I spending my saturday night with?

Just a few of my favorite men.

Found these on Google images. Of course.

distressing 101.

Alternately titled: So many pictures, your eyes might bleed.

I love distressed furniture. Actually, I love furniture. And paint. And decorations. And everything else that has anything to do with decorating a home. I was going to be an interior designer, you know.
So here it is. Weeks and weeks after I said I would post it:
How I Distressed My TV Cabinet (with help from my assistant, Mama)
I didn't think to get a before picture (shame on me!) but before we started, the cabinet was a light wood. We then stained it Dark Walnut and it turned out the color seen below:
Mmm. Pretty.
We then did a test board to try to figure out the exact way we wanted it.
Since it was such a dark color and I wanted the end result to be... well.. vibrant, we then dry brushed a cream color over the dried stained cabinet.
See?
Lovely. Just lovely. It looks old already.
Oh yeah. That's the stuff. I loved it at this step. I actually thought about stopping here, but I pushed through it. And it was tough. (BUT I will be painting something this color, someday. Have no fear.)
I'm in love...................................
Or so I thought. Oh Mama. Here comes the color.
That color.
It's better than chocolate.
Dry brush it on, just like the cream color.
And as demonstrated by my lovely assistant (Hey E!), don't forget the feetsies.
Best looking feet I have ever seen.
Just look at them. No seriously. Look.
Still dry brushing.
(Side note, because you know I love those: I promise I was doing actual work and not just taking pictures. Promise)
Look. At. That. *Swoon*
Now? The fun part.
After painting the cabinet, use a heat gun to make the paint bubble.
The thicker the paint, the bigger the bubbles.
See the teenie tiny bubbles? Thin paint.

After it dried, it was time to sand. It is a little scary at first because the larger bubbles like to peel.

But don't distress... (pun intended)
Sand it until you like how it looks, then put a coat of polyurethane on it. My finished product?

I

am..

obsessed..

Please send help.
Because sometimes I just shut the doors and look at it.
Obviously I like mine severely distressed.
But if you don't, don't sand so much.
So easy yet SO make me want to just snuggle it but that would be totally weird pretty.
